I'm looking at projectors right
now. I'm learning many different
things.
Currently, I'm looking at Epson
projectors. I'm not sure if this
is the best brand name or not.
However, I love Epson printers.
I'll try to figure out if their
projectors are as good.
I'm looking at the entry level
model, which is the EX3210. This
projector has an 800 X 600 pixel
screen.
It's been 10 years or more since
800 X 600 pixels was the dominant
screen resolution for computer monitors.
Apparently projectors aer way way
behind computer monitors in terms
of price.
Of course, you can buy a 1080p projector
today but it will cost over one thousand
dollars. I'd rather not spend that kind
of money.
For this reason, I'm looking at the Epson
EX3210. So far, it seems to have all the
features I need.
For example, the manual says it has a zoom
ring. The manual can be found here:
EX3210/EX5210/EX7210 User's Guide
Since I plan to use my projector as a portable
projector in many different situations, a zoom
ring will come in very very handy! The zoom
feature allows you to increase or decrease the
size of the image on the screen without moving
the projector.
Without a zoom feature, you have to move the
projector forward or backward in order to
adjust the size of the image on the screen.
Or more likely, you end up moving the screen
itself.
Another feature I want is the ability to run
a slide show off a USB flash drive. Looks
like the Epson EX3210 can do that.
From reading the EX3210 manual, it appears to
me that all you need to do is dump a bunch
of images on to the flash drive in order to
create a slide show. Very handy!
